MyMealDate keeps your pantry, meals, purchases and recipes on your iPhone.
There is no account to create, no advertising, and nothing is sold or
shared for tracking.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter or scan: pantry items, prices, receipts and their
photos, meals, nutrition, weight, exercise, recipes, and waste history.
Receipt photos are read on your iPhone; the images are not uploaded.
What leaves your device
Basic food lookups and barcodes. The food name or barcode you
search is sent directly from your iPhone to Open Food Facts, a public food
database. It doesn't pass through our server.
Advanced lookups (Plus). Whole-meal searches are sent to
api.mymealdate.com, which asks FatSecret. Results are cached for up to 24
hours, without anything identifying who asked.
An anonymous device ID. Created the first time the app talks to
our server, to apply usage limits. It is a random number, not linked to your
name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier. On iPhone, Apple's App
Attest confirms requests come from a genuine copy of the app; it does not
identify you.
MyMealDate Plus status. If you subscribe, the app sends Apple's
signed purchase record so the server can confirm it. Apple handles the
payment; we never see your payment details.
Shared receipt fixes (optional, off by default). If you turn on
Settings › Share Receipt Fixes, each rename you make to a misread receipt
line (for example "GV WHL MLK" → "Whole Milk") is sent with the store name,
under the anonymous device ID. Nothing else from your receipt is sent: no
photo and no prices. Fixes that many people agree on are reviewed and built
into future versions of the app. Shared fixes are deleted from the server
after 180 days.
Emailed receipts (optional). If you forward an order email to
your private receipts address, the email is stored to extract the items and
deleted after 30 days.
Server logs (request time, route, errors) are kept for 30 days to
keep the service running.
Apple services you choose to turn on
iCloud backup and household sharing store your data in your own
iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. We cannot read it.
Apple Health. If you connect it, meals and weight are written to
and read from Health on your device. Health data is never sent to our
server or used for advertising.
Your choices
Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Turn off iCloud
backup, household sharing, receipt fix sharing or Health in Settings at
any time. Settings › Export My Data saves everything as spreadsheet (CSV)
files you can keep or take to another app. To have the server forget your device ID, forwarded emails and shared
fixes,
email support@mymealdate.com.
Children
MyMealDate is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and anything
